LW Mattias Tedenby has replaced Dainius Zubrus on the Petr Sykora-Elias line.
RW Cam Janssen (bruised chest) will sit out tonight and is day to day.
RW Nick Palmieri, who was recalled from Albany on Monday, called the demotion a “wake-up call.”
C Travis Zajac (Achilles’ tendon) didn’t practice with team Monday. He’s expected to return shortly.
D Bryce Salvador had what DeBoer called a ‘‘maintenance day” and didn’t practice Monday.

Patrik Elias was unhappy to see the Devils will make only one trip to each Canadian city, since no Canadian teams will be in their conference.
"I'd rather come here (to Canada), to be honest," Elias said. "I'd rather play in the Canadian cities more. It's a lot more fun. The people here are more into hockey. They understand hockey better. Plus it's fun to play here."

In the midst of a disastrous four-game road trip, the Devils flew back to New Jersey after their latest loss in Winnipeg Saturday night.
The return home, prior to Tuesday night's game in Toronto against the Maple Leafs, was planned ahead, but it could not have come at a better time.
There is not much positive to say about the Devils right now:
* They are 0-3-0 on the road trip and are on a season-high four-game losing streak.
* On this trip they have been outscored, 14-5, by the Avalanche, Wild and Jets.
* The Devils have allowed seven short-handed goals this season, including four in the last seven games and six in 13 games.
* They've given up four 4-on-4 goals in the three games on the trip. Ilya Kovalchuk has played a part in three of them.
* Kovalchuk has been on the ice for 11 of the team's last 14 goals-against, as well as 13 of the last 17.
* Zach Parise has been on the ice for 10 of the Devils' last 17 goals allowed.
* Goalie Martin Brodeur, pulled after 8:17 of the opening period in Minnesota Friday night, has allowed six goals on the last nine first-period shots he's faced.
* X-rays showed that right winger Cam Janssen was not seriously injured when he was hit by Winnipeg's Arturs Kulda at 7:24 of the first period Saturday night, but he suffered a pretty bad hit to the chest. It seems he took the butt end of Kulda's stick.
* The Devils have dropped to 12-12-1. It's the first time they've had an NHL-.500 record since Nov. 3, when they were 5-5-1.
On the positive side:
* Rookie Adam Henrique has points in five straight games (two goals, four assists).
* They will get center Travis Zajac back for practice at some point this week, perhaps as early as Monday afternoon at the AmeriHealth Pavilion. Zajac has been skating on his own in New Jersey for the past couple of weeks as he recovers from Aug. 18 surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon.
* Parise has points in four straight (1-4-5).

Coach Pete DeBoer continues to maintain that Kovalchuk is playing well, despite the fact the winger been on the ice for 11 of the last 14 goals against the Devils.
Kovalchuk, minus-2 in tonight's 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre, is minus-7 in the last three games.

The Jets tied the game at 18:24. Hedberg sent a pass from behind his net to Ilya Kovalchuk off the left wing boards. The winger was unable to control the puck and that allowed Bryan Little to send a pass to Alexander Burmistrov alone in front for the tying goal.
“It’s off the boards and over my stick,” Kovakchuk said.

eskuszom csak Henriqueben es Eliasban latom a tuzet csak. Idokozben Kovy felbaszodott s utott egyet. Fàsszamba. 3-2 fél harmad utàn. s mar reg Hedberg ved. Ez a negyedik meccs ma amit nezeek, de a leg golzaporosabb. Remelem javunka dol el, kurvara rankferne.
