Nashville Predators may not have money to keep Dan Hamhuis
Predators defenseman Dan Hamhuis left Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday wondering whether he'll be back in a Nashville uniform next season.
Hamhuis is the most significant potential unrestricted free agent on the Nashville roster. The blueliner's contract expires on June 30. He made $2.5 million this past season, but will likely be able to command somewhere in the neighborhood of a $4 million average on his next deal.
It's uncertain whether the Predators will be able to re-sign Hamhuis, who just finished his sixth season in Nashville. He's the only Predator to have played in all of Nashville's postseason games.
Asked if he thought there was a possibility of returning, Hamhuis said: "I think so. I've enjoyed playing with a great group of guys and the community — my wife and family really enjoy it. There are a lot of great things in Nashville we enjoy.
"At the same time, there are options out there, too. So we'll take some time to think about it. We're certainly not clawing out the door to leave. That's for sure.''
Hamhuis said there weren't any negotiations between the two sides since the trade deadline, but expects talks to resume in the near future.
"If I had to guess, I'd think they want to get my situation in order,'' Hamhuis said. "If I'm here, I'm here. If not, they can think about their budget for July 1, whether they want to re-sign another defenseman or do something at the draft. I think they probably want to have me sorted out to be more certain."

- Predators Coach Barry Trotz a finalist for Jack Adams Award. The other finalists are Phoenix coach Dave Tippett and Colorado coach Joe Sacco.
- Predators defenseman Dan Hamhuis is the team’s nomination for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.
The Clancy nomination comes from a vote by the players. The league-wide winner will be chosen by a panel of representatives from the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.
- The injury that sidelined Patric Hornqvist for Games 2 through 5 of the Predators’ playoff series was a broken left hand.
Hornqvist suffered in the injury in the second-to-last game of the season, but the Predators referred to it only as an upper-body injury. Hornqvist played in part of Game 1 against Chicago, but the condition of the injury deteriorated.

Akkor amit most hirtelen várok a nyártól:
- Hamhuis maradhat, bár nem vagyok vele megelégedve.
- Ellis maradjon!!
- Boyd kell!!
- Bouillon mehet.
- Belak kuka.
- Hornqvistot aláíratni 3 milla körül!
- Geréb elférne, de nem túl sokért.
- Franson marad, úgysem kap túl sok lét.
És kell egy fasza, tökös agitátor, aki előre is képes alkotni! Tootoo náting, elpuhult.

Nemtom figyelted-e Naf Grebes ténykedését Hossageci góljánál... erről beszéltem korábban, rohaggyonmeg
Viszont ezek a keresztpasszos figurák (amik mellesleg szintén a ruszkira épülnek) a két Erat-gólnál újak számomra,
soha nem játszottunk ilyesmit. Leszarommá a kiesést, meg a megalázást, írassuk alá Gerébet, gyúrjuk ki a nyáron,
aztán jövőre jó lesz! Meg jön a másik svéd is, oszt odabaszunk a kurvannyát!!

Sajnos ez a PO csak arra volt jó, hogy megutáljam az eddig számomra abszolút szimpatikus csikágót.
Különösen Kane-t. Nem tudom igazán megmagyarázni, de minden rosszat kívánok neki a jövőben!
A fejét akarom látni, mikor kiesnek a gecibe, nincs más vágyam már ebben a szezonban.  |

- Jordin Tootoo missed practice after taking a puck in the face from teammate Cody Franson in the third period Thursday night. Tootoo needed about 45 stitches and had some plastic surgery. He had a checkup appointment in Franklin during Friday’s practice but was expected to be on the flight to Chicago and ready to Game 5.
- Hornqvist practices: There’s still no official word on Patric Hornqvist’s status for Game 5. He completed the entire practice and is questionable. “He’s getting better,” Trotz said. “By tomorrow he might be ready.”
- Defenseman Ryan Suter also missed practice, but it was not due to injury. “Just a little maintenance,” Trotz said. “He plays lots of minutes. He’s fine. There will be no issues with him tomorrow.”
- It doesn’t appear the Predators are ready to insert Denis Grebeshkov into the lineup anytime soon. Grebeshkov hasn’t played since suffering a groin injury on March 7 but has been practicing with the team. The coaching staff has decided to stick with Cody Franson.

It looks like the Chicago Blackhawks might get a boost to their lineup tonight. Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said defenseman Brian Campbell, who’s been out since mid-March with a broken clavicle and broken rib, will be a game-time decision for the Blackhawks tonight.  |

The Predators have signed Swedish forward Linus Klasen to a one-year, two-way deal that will pay him $675,000 at the NHL level and $67,500 at the AHL level.
Klasen, 24, tied for fifth in the Swedish Elite League in points (51) and ranked ninth in goals (19) in 51 games. In 2008-09, the 5-8, 175-pound left wing led his Sodertalje club in goals and ranked second in points (29), and in 2007-08, he was a finalist for rookie of the year in Sweden.
