Instant Analysis: Sergei Kostitsyn Trade
This is a low-risk, high-reward move for Nashville. Both Boyd and Ellis were going to be unrestricted free agents in a day and a half and the Preds weren’t going to be able to bring either of them back. Coming back to Nashville, Kostitsyn is a restricted free agent (see Preds RFA list). At just 23 years old, he’s already dressed in three NHL seasons plus an Olympics tournament. He has the raw skills to play in a scoring line role in the NHL; the Predators hope he can realize that potential next season in Nashville.
The trade will also give Kostitsyn a chance to break out of his brother’s shadow. In Montreal he was always linked to his older brother, Andrei, the 10th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Andrei has scored 64 goals over the last three seasons for Montreal, including a career-high of 26 in ’07-08. Many scouts feel Sergei has similar potential as Andrei, but just hasn’t had that breakthrough. Sergei’s shown flashes, though – like his four point game in the Olympics or his three game stretch in March when he posted four goals (two game-winners) and five points during the heart of Montreal’s push to get into the playoffs.
“Sergei’s a young player and he’s got a lot of potential,” Predators GM David Poile said. “He probably hasn’t lived up to his expectations – or everybody’s expectations of him – yet. But, he is a player that has a tremendous amount of upside.”
The Predators have several solid two-way forward prospects, but in Kostitsyn the Preds have added a prospect with a dynamic “wow” element to his game who is capable of stepping in to the NHL and contributing now … without losing any players from the current roster or sacrificing any of the organization’s deep pool of prospects.
“This is a trade that if it all works out and is a good fit, this can be a big upside for us,” said Poile. “Having said that, I want to talk to him directly and talk to his agent to make sure this is a fit for the Predators and for him before we go forward on a contract discussion.”

The Montreal Canadiens acquired goaltender Dan Ellis, forward Dustin Boyd and future considerations from the Nashville Predators for winger Sergei Kostitsyn and future considerations.
Kostitsyn scored seven goals and 18 points in 47 games last season. He's talented, but he's never been able to make it work in Montreal. Maybe a change of scenery is exactly what he needs to help him break out. If he can earn a permanent spot on Nashville's roster in 2010-11, he might end up with 15-20 goals and 40 points. Savard gyenge 7 millát kaszál, végülis valószínű, hogy képben volt nálunk...
Boydi viszont milka körülbe került volna, de nekünk nem kellett...
Grebest és Boydit így aztán jól beszoptuk, mert kibasztuk az idei 2-, és 4.körös pickünket a kukába...
Korábban azért azt hittem, okosan csináljuk a dolgokat, de tavasz óta összességében csak rombolás megy itt. 
Nem fogunk UFA-zni sem sztem, ha mégis, akkor max milka-körüli naplopók(a)t. |

Preds Extend Offers To Restricted Free Agents
The Nashville Predators extended official Qualifying Offers to several of their pending Restricted Free Agents prior to today's deadline, including forwards Patric Hornqvist  & Michael Santorelli, defensemen Robert Dietrich , Cody Franson , Teemu Laakso , & Ryan Parent , and goaltender Mark Dekanich.
By extending Qualifying Offers, the Nashville retains the rights to those restricted free agents, including the option to match any contract offers extended to those players by other NHL teams.
Nashville did not extend Qualifying Offers to Dustin Boyd , Denis Grebeshkov , or Peter Olvecky; all three will now become unrestricted free agents on July 1.

Na most letöltöttem egy AviTricks-nevű progit, azzal megpróbálkozok. De most mondom, hogy hosszú és nehéz szülés
lesz, mert egyrészt balfasz vagyok , másrészt ha már nekiállok, akkor jót akarok és ahhoz idő kell.
Meccseket kell még letöltenem, kellenek az asszisztjai is, meg a bunyók stb... szal soká lesz kész, de majd szólok.
És ha közben problémám akad, ami konkrét, akkor úgyis nyaggatlak majd. |

Na, szelektáltam egy nagyot és öszvissz 6 meccset hagyok meg a szezonból: a két győztes PO-zúzást, meg Toots
4 gólját a 6-ból. Köztük az a durva hármas sorozat, mikor 4 napon belül betalált a pensnek-, a devilsnek-, meg a ragsnak is!
Megvan még egy gólja a kenuk ellen, de sajna a maradék kettő nem jön össze.
De sebaj, remélem a következő szezonban betelik a gépem, meg az összes mindenem az eszkimó góljaival! |

Predators have 'good, solid draft'
Nashville concluded its selections Saturday at the 2010 NHL Draft in Los Angeles with a total of six players. The Predators took four forwards and two defensemen, highlighted by the selection of forward Austin Watson, who was selected No. 18 overall on Friday.
After taking Watson on Friday, Nashville waited patiently through the second round on Saturday then took defenseman Taylor Aronson in the third round (No. 78 overall). The 18-year-old California native played with Portland of the WHL last season and had 30 points (5 goals, 25 assists) in 71 games.
Nashville again had to wait through another round — this time the fourth — before gearing up for its fifth-round selection. The Predators then took Swedish forward Patrick Cehlin, who played for Djurgarden last season and had 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 54 games. Entering the draft, he was ranked as the 25th-best International Skater by Central Scouting.
In the sixth round, Nashville took American defenseman Anthony Bitetto (No. 168 overall). He grew up on Long Island, N.Y., and played for Indiana of the USHL last season. Bitetto, a big, raw defenseman, will play for Northeastern University, Poile’s alma mater.
The Predators had two picks in the seventh round. They selected German forward David Elsner (No. 194 overall) and Finnish center Joonas Rask (No. 198 overall).

The Nashville Predators were happy that Austin Watson was still available when they selected at 18. The Predators were prepared to trade down but couldn't resist taking the 6'3" Watson. He really came into his own offensively with the Peterborough Petes after being traded from eventual Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires, collecting 20 points in his last ten games. "We're trying to get a little bit bigger and we certainly like that type of player," GM David Poile said. "One of the players he has been compared to is Ryan Kesler of Vancouver. If he gets anywhere close to that, then we will have had a very good day at the draft." Watson is still a few years away from making an impact with the Predators and will play in the OHL again next season.

The Nashville Predators selected Austin Watson with the 18th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. After getting traded from Windsor to Peterborough last season, Watson emerged as a multi-talented forward and showed he was capable of putting up big offensive numbers. With Windsor, Watson registered 34 points in 42 games, but he posted 20 points in just 10 games with the Petes.
