Marian Gaborik has been advised that the timeframe for recovery from his separated shoulder is 2-4 weeks. This is a change from the 2-3 week time period that was initially reported, but isn`t earth-shattering news, although the sniper isn`t pleased about the injury, saying "It's frustrating. I've never had a separated shoulder before, so it is what it is. I've got to stay positive and make sure to do whatever I need to do to get it better."  |

Just a horrible night for the Blueshirts, as they lost the game in overtime and two-thirds of their top line, as Chris Drury suffered an even worse injury.
Drury re-injured the same finger that caused him to miss the start of the season Friday and will now be out an estimated six weeks.
Gaborik injured his left shoulder separation in Friday's game against the Leafs and will miss the next 2-3 weeks.

Derek Stepan might center the Rangers' top line on Friday. Erik Christensen is questionable for Friday's game, which creates a potential opening on the first line. Stepan played part of the preseason on the top line, but he started the season on the third line with Sean Avery and Ruslan Fedotenko. Adding another layer of uncertainty to the situation is that Chris Drury (finger) might return to the lineup on Friday. If Christensen can't play but Drury can, the Rangers might have Drury center the top line.

Jó ez a 4 nap pihenő, így lehet Christensen is játszhat már pénteken. Drury meg kábé fix.

With Vaclav Prospal (knee) unavailable for the start of the regular season, Brandon Dubinsky could center the top line. Dubinsky was already expected to take a step forward this season after scoring 40 to 44 points in each of his last three seasons and this would certainly help. Although, this may just be a short term boost for Dubinsky, depending on how Prospal's recovery goes, it certainly makes him worth keeping an eye on. Rookie Derek Stepan is also in the running and he has the advantage of having meshed well with Marian Gaborik and Alex Frolov offensively. However, he's struggled defensively and coach John Tortorella might be reluctant to give a rookie first line minutes off-the-bat. We'll keep you posted. (NY Post)
