Mit mondhatnék ennél többet "Western Conference Champions" Óriási! 9 consecutive road wins, durvaaaa A Predsnek ez egy igen fontos meccs volt, ehhez képest nem sok közük volt a meccshez, a góljuk után kb helyzetbe sem kerültek, Rinne megint meccsben tartotta őket. Nem örülnék nekik a playoffban, kemény lenne nagyon (bár még mindig inkább ők mint a Chicago). Burrows úgy néz ki idén is eléri a 25 gólos határt, konzisztens a srác hálistennek. Rome első gólja a Nucksban, ráadásul kereken a 100. meccsén a csapatban. :) Hank hogy figyelt rá, még a korongot is elrakta neki, ilyen egy jó csapatkapitány. :) Na akkor már csak a Presidents hiányzik az alapszakaszunkból, az is meglesz, a csapat történetében először!!! A Sedinek meg a csapat történetének legeredményesebb duója lehetnek jelenleg 186 ponttal, Bert és Nazzy 201-et hoztak össze 8 éve. Nem tudom annak drukkoljak-e hogy sikerüljön vagy hogy ne, mindenesetre van rá 5 meccsük :)

És megvan a Presidents'!!!! Azért durva kiírás volt hogy '86 óta mindössze hét alapszakasz első lett Stanley győztes, ebből látszik, hogy a rájátszás egy másik sportág. Nemsokára kezdődik, jézusom, ennyire még nem izgultam soha, személy szerint 99 óta figyelem a csapatot, de ilyen egyértelműen sosem lehetett még kijelenteni hogy cup-contenderek vagyunk. Látom hoholla megelőzött hogy négy fő mutatóban is elsők vagyunk, ilyen még nem volt az expansion eraban, erre nincs nagyon mit mondani (52 győzelem, 26 otthon, 26 idegenben szintén ligaelső mutatók). Konkrétan a meccsről is. Dany 100. pont! Csak mint a Preds, kellettek nekik a pontok, ehhez képest az első harmad kivételével közük nem volt a meccshez. Vicces volt, hogy az első harmadban épp lecsúsztunk, a másodikban épp befértünk a gólunkkal a 20 percbe. :) "Ehrhoff scores! He beat the buzzer!!!!", hatalmas duma volt, imádom Shorthouset :D A bírok viszont rettentő gyengén fújtak, nekünk konkrétan semmit, nem mintha szükségünk lenne rá. A hangulat amúgy már abszolút rájátszásbeli volt. Meccsek óta írni akartam, hogy Tanevet érdemes figyelni, sihederként ilyen nyugodt és magabiztos védő nem sok fordult meg nálunk, rettentő bátor már-már pofátlan néha, nagyon megbízható, nekem személy szerint különösképp tetszik a játéka, úgyhogy Clifford szopjon le. Az Oils ellen örömjáték jön vagy pihentetés. Szerintem az elsőn kikapunk a másodikon viszont jól elverjük őket. :)

Egy jó kis cikk a meccs utáni hangulatról az öltözőben:

VANCOUVER — It was an odd thing on Friday morning. There were no dark circles under players' eyes and there wasn't even a hint of stale booze seeping through their pores during a brisk mid-morning practice at Rogers Arena.

Fifteen hours earlier, the sight in the Vancouver Canucks locker-room was just as strange. There was no hooting and hollering. No backslapping nor hijinx. Even the Interview Bomber took the night off, with Ryan Kesler joining some of his teammates for a quick workout instead of popping up behind them shirtless wearing only Groucho Marx glasses and with a red rose between his teeth.

Rather, the mood surrounding the team in the moments following the franchise's first Presidents' Trophy was no different than it was following a victory in early December. Or during that stretch of games last month when they alternated wins and losses, for that matter.

Yes, the Canucks are the NHL's best regular-season team. They might also be its most humble.

"You just can't be too emotionally invested in that type of thing – stay neutral no matter what and that's the mentality we have," said Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa.

"Last year, it was a lot different in here, there was a lot more celebration after wins and there was a lot more moping around after losses. I think it's just indicative of our mental toughness and our ability to stay even keel."

Canucks players gathered at centre ice and lifted their sticks to acknowledge the fans, who had taken to their feet following the team's 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. But that was about as far as it went in terms of a celebration. Just like Vancouver's Western Conference-clinching win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, players exchanged handshakes as they took off their gear, but that was the end of that. There's still a lot of work to be done. Bring on the Edmonton Oilers, who pay a visit Saturday (7 p.m., CBC, Team 1040).

"You look back 20 years from now and it's probably going to be a big deal for us," said Kesler. "I'm not saying it doesn't mean much, but it's an accomplishment towards our main goal. As a team, we don't get too high and don't get too low and that's been a key to our success."

Waiting for players at their stalls after practice were freshly printed Vancouver Canucks Presidents' Trophy T-shirts and hats, complete with the team's logo and the odd-shaped award, that somewhat resembles the Space Needle.

Not one player put them on, instead the grab bag of merchandise was packed away for a later date.

If it wasn't painfully obvious before, players and coaches are all but admitting it now. Nothing less than a Stanley Cup will satisfy this group … or its legion of fans.

"For us, we are well aware that it is all right to be — I don't know if happy is the right term — but we worked out butts off for six months to win the Presidents' Trophy, so perhaps for 24 hours we'll be happy and comfortable but for the rest it's going to be business as usual," said head coach Alain Vigneault.

"We know we're not going to be judged by what we do in the regular season, we'll be judged by what we do in the playoffs."

Vancouver has already set franchise records for points (113), wins (52) and road wins (26) in a season. Their 17-1-2 run in games from Nov. 24 through Jan. 8 marked the best 20-game stretch in team history while their record of 13-2 in March was their most successful month ever.

And there's still more to accomplish. Vancouver went into Friday's games having scored the most goals (253), while allowing the fewest (177) and held the top power-play (24.7 per cent) and penalty-killing percentages (86.6 per cent). No club in the NHL's expansion era has finished first in each of these categories in a single season.

Even then, don't expect anyone to be taking a bow. Especially, the Sedins.

"Look at Hank and Danny, if two people could be a bit cocky or have that arrogance about them for what they have accomplished personally, it's those two but yet they are two of the most humble people I've been around," said defenceman Keith Ballard.

"If they're that way, everyone has to be that way. If your best players are that humble and that modest everyone falls in line. It's just a great form of leadership by them and that attitude has set the tone for this team all season."

Great people don't need to tell others how great they are. People already know. The same can be said for the Canucks in this instance.

Nincs nagyon mit mondani erről a meccsről, nem voltunk élesek. Helyzetek voltak ugyan, de a jobban akaró és küzdő Edomnton simán vert minket. Nagyon nem hat meg, de azért jó lenne elkenni a szájukat a visszavágón.

Nem sikerült. De azért gondolom ezután lesz egy kisebb fejmosás, a ligaelső a ligautolsó elleni back-to-backen egy gólt képes lőni. Még kómásan, motiválatlanul is illett volna ennél többet nyújtani. Viszont jól jön a playoff előtt, felrázza őket az tuti. Az egyetlen amit sajnálok hogy szépen elrontottuk a PK százalékunkat, látom a Pens megelőzött minket, ráadásul Torres ilyen faszságot csinál, az erős harmadik sorunk széthullott, Manny nincs, Torres az első két meccsen nincs... Bár túlzónak tartom a 4 meccset. A nap mondata: "It's a 5 on 3 forever" :D A 2 meccs legélvezetesebb része volt az a három és fél perc kettős hátrány, csodásan védekeztünk. Viszont a lényeg, Samy is back! És Edler is elkezdett korizni. Elegek kell legyünk így is bárki ellen!

És egy valamire itt most ki kell térni. AV nagyszerű edző. és minden játékosára nagyon ügyel. Fél perc volt hátra és behozta Schneidert. Ezzel ez a 24. meccse volt idén, vagyis a hátralévő két meccs egyikén ő fog védeni, hogy Luongoval együtt felkerüljön a neve a Jenningsre. Óriási húzás. Egyfelől megérdemli, másfelől egy ilyen lépés óriási mértékben hozzájárulhat ahhoz, hogy Cory esetleg a csapat berkein belül maradjon. Alain Vigneault, le a kalappal! :allah:
