With Vaclav Prospal (knee) unavailable for the start of the regular season, Brandon Dubinsky could center the top line. Dubinsky was already expected to take a step forward this season after scoring 40 to 44 points in each of his last three seasons and this would certainly help. Although, this may just be a short term boost for Dubinsky, depending on how Prospal's recovery goes, it certainly makes him worth keeping an eye on. Rookie Derek Stepan is also in the running and he has the advantage of having meshed well with Marian Gaborik and Alex Frolov offensively. However, he's struggled defensively and coach John Tortorella might be reluctant to give a rookie first line minutes off-the-bat. We'll keep you posted. (NY Post) |
