On the same day the 20-year-old forward is scheduled for a court hearing to answer charges he and his cousin, James Kane, beat up a cab driver in Buffalo, N.Y., the United States Olympic men's team orientation camps opens in suburban Chicago.
USA Hockey spokesman Dave Fischer said Monday that Kane is still expected to participate in the three-day camp.
The Kanes were arrested around 5 a.m. Sunday, accused of assaulting a taxi driver and failing to pay their fare.
According to the Buffalo News, the fare was $13.80 US and the Kanes handed the driver $15.
After the cabbie told them he didn't have 20 cents in coins to give them change, the Kanes allegedly punched him in the face and head, took the money they had given him and grabbed him by the throat, breaking his glasses. |
