| Carlyle was comfortable enough to use Beauchemin on the second power play unit in place of Toni Lydman on Sunday, but overall Carlyle has noticed some areas that he would like Beauchemin to work on.
“I find he’s little more rigid than what I remember as far as straight-legged in some situations shooting the puck,” Carlyle said.
“I think he’s lost some of his confidence in that area. We’d like to rebuild that with him.”
Beauchemin might have lost some of that confidence on a struggling Maple Leafs team. He entered Tuesday leading the league in giveaways (71) but he gives the Ducks another shot blocker with a sacrificial mentality.
