"I think Sexy can do a lot more with the puck and not be pressing so hard," Carlyle said. "I think at times he was guilty of turning the puck over too many times at too many opportunities. I think he’s got to utilize his speed."
"He's got two points since Jan. 27. We take statistics into consideration and when a player's been in some sort of a drought, maybe it's better served [that he sit out]."
"Things happened pretty easily for him when he first came in," Carlyle said. "He made a splash and it's a credit to the player. Now, to play in the NHL, you've got to be more consistent. Do what you do best but you've got to do it on a consistent basis. He hasn't been able to achieve that yet." |
