Orange County Register:
The Ducks have signed defenseman Jake Newton to a three-year entry level contract and brought him in to work out with the team. Newton will remain here for the remainder of the 2009-10 season and it will count against his contract.
"Going into the season, we were very excited about Jake and the potential we saw in him as a staff," Northeastern assistant Sebastien Laplante told the school's athletic website. "I don't think anyone expected Jake to leave this soon. However, seeing his progression over the course of the season, we knew we had a very special player."
Newton is the latest of many collegiate free-agent signings by David McNab, the Ducks' senior vice president of hockey operations. Among those whom McNab has signed over the years are Dan Sexton and Ryan Carter along with former players Andy McDonald, Dustin Penner, Chris Kunitz, Curtis Glencross and Ryan Shannon.
Jól értem, hogy marad nálunk a szezon hátralévő részére, és így gyakorlatilag 2 évig lesz még szerződése? |
