Chiarelli is fired. Finally. Leaves me with a question of is Murray now the worst gm in the nhl? Looking at this team. This season and how long he’s been at the helm now(a decade) it’s mind boggling to think he hasn’t traded for or drafted a true number 1 centre. A true number 1 defensemen. I have to admit Benny I apologise for going off earlier this year, the scales are off my eyes now though. The defence which we were all lied to for years about how it’s the best group in the league and "we are building the right way" looks terrible. Of all the picks a true number 1 defender isn’t there. A decade. A fucking decade of picks and trades and this is what we are left with under murray. We have all been lied to and fooled and there is no way in hell Murray or Carlyle should be involved with this teams future. Murray’s been in charge of that for ten years and all that’s clear is he has no idea how to actually build a team or draft true talent. How long was yzermen in Tampa? How about sackic in Colorado? Much shorter tenures. Much better results. We need to stop lying to ourselves and being biased because a player wears a D on his chest. Bring forth a critical eye and it’s easy to see he’s a terrible judge in skill and talent and so is Carlyle
