The Ducks trade D Cam Fowler to the Maple Leafs for LW James van Riemsdyk

The Ducks are last in offense in the NHL and although Rickard Rakell is gaining traction alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, it's time for GM Bob Murray to stop experiment and acquire a proven scorer Bruce Boudreau can slot alongside the twins and worry about other deficiencies on this underachieving team.

I rank Fowler third behind Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen on the Anaheim quality depth chart, and with Simon Depres and Shea Theodore, Murray can move Fowler for a player that would be the answer to their long playing top line left wing search.

From a Toronto perspective, you only have to look at how coach Mike Babcock has turned the play of Dion Phaneuf around and wonder what he would do with a high skill defenseman like Fowler, who's development has plateaued in Anaheim.

The trade is essentially a wash; both players have three seasons left after this one -- JVR cap hit $4.25M per, Cam $4M per -- so there's no concern about salary retention or added a player for cap purposes.

A másik gond, hogy itt lehet dobálózni Despres nevével, hogy ott van nekünk a depth chart-ban, de Barrie mészárlása óta semmit nem tudni róla és jég közelében se volt, szóval én nem hiszem, hogy ez most segítene nekünk, akármennyire is jó lenne JVR. Fowler túl nagy űrt hagyna ahhoz, hogy ez megoldja a gondjainkat.
