“Obviously, we’ve had great success here, and Brian has guaranteed me that he will help me in going forward and continuing the success we have had,” Murray said. “People worry about transition when these things happen. From Day 1, he has included me in everything we have done — all of our hirings, all of our trades. I’m inheriting a great coaching staff, an outstanding assistant general manager in David McNab, all the staff Brian has put together.

“The players aren’t Brian’s players. They’re not my players. They’re our players. That’s why it’s a natural transition. I don’t see any problems whatsoever. We see the game pretty much the same way.”
